Monday, Power-Shake

What can make you smile on a Monday morning? Not much in my case. However, a good milkshake always helps. I love this quick whizzed-up breakfast. It’s sweet, velvety and peanutty – protein powder gives it a little bit more body and thickness. It keeps you full and has only a little over 300 calories.

INGREDIENTS:

( Serves 1 large glass, prep time: 5 mins)

  • 1 small, very ripe banana
  • 1 tbsp smooth peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp organic whey protein powder
  •  1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 250 ml semi-skimmed milk
  • a glass of ice
  •  1/2 tbsp of organic coconut nectar ( or honey ).

METHOD:

Put all the ingredients together in a blender and blitz till smooth.

  1. Love a shake like this, it’s filling and good for you and really like that it’s only 300 calories.

    • Love a shake too! 😉 . ( and yes about the calories here…the original recipe doesn’t have coconut nectar in it, and that recipe has only 300 cal. I can spare a few calories for a touch of healthy sweetness. )
